Are Your Beliefs About Wealth Holding You Back?

What does wealth mean to you?

I mean, why does it matter to you whether you are wealthy (or not)?

I realize I have just jumped into this post with what could seem like aggressive interrogation-room questions. (*Puts away spotlight*)

I’m asking, though, because these are deep-down, soul-level questions that can help guide your business (and life).

Your answers are like little signposts, pointing you toward a life that feels rich in every sense of the word.

For most of our modern societies, wealth represents power. It doesn’t have to represent greedy, take-over-the-world kind of power, but it can represent the kind of power that enhances your life.

Money gives you choices. It’s the difference between settling for what you think you can get — and going after what you truly want.

It offers the freedom to make decisions that feel right for you, rather than what your bank account dictates.

Instead of seeing wealth as a necessary evil, think of it as a sacred opportunity. Wealth is your ticket to living fully, and integrating your values, your passions, and your life goals into something cohesive and powerful.

It’s what helps you show up as a fully integrated human being, rather than someone constantly wrestling with what they can and can’t afford.

So, let’s address the “spiritual” elephant in the room, shall we?

There’s this idea (that’s been around f o r e v e r) that struggling financially somehow makes you more spiritual, more noble.

But honestly — feeling stuck and powerless because you lack money is not spiritual. It’s just plain painful.

True spirituality isn’t about suffering; it’s about living fully, freely, and with purpose. Having the financial power to make choices that align with who you are can help further your spiritual path in very practical ways.

So… what do you really want, when it comes to money and wealth?

One of the biggest hurdles to creating wealth in our businesses and our lives is indecision. We often sit on the fence, trying to figure out what we want or whether we “should” want it.

But life isn’t meant to be a series of compromises. A rich life (spiritual and otherwise) involves getting clear on what matters most to you and then going after it with every ounce of devotion you’ve got.

This is where I like to take my clients on a little “Third Option” adventure.

Sometimes, it feels like we’re stuck between two equally bad choices — one that involves staying where we are, with all the “comforts” that situation brings, and the other that involves change and massive sacrifice.

We might not always articulate it, but deep down, we’re often trying to choose between what I call Terrible Option #1 and Terrible Option #2.

But here’s the magic: There’s always a third option — one that aligns with what you really want and not only fits with your life but brings unexpected JOY.

The Third Option process that I do with my clients is about finding that sweet spot and committing to it fully.

And that sweet spot absolutely exists for you right now, when it comes to money, wealth, and freedom in your business and life.

It isn’t about “getting” more, but becoming more of who you truly are.

I should be really clear: in no way am I implying that money can make you happy. Obviously, nothing in the physical world can “make you happy” (a topic for a whole ‘nother time).

At the end of the day, though, wealth isn’t just about money — it’s about power and freedom.

Take a moment and think about the compromises you’ve been making when it comes to money. If you’re “on the fence” about whether having money is a good thing or a bad thing… well, that’s a good place to start.

Take a look at the beliefs that are keeping you on the fence. Are they really necessary, or is there a third option waiting for you to discover?

If so, why not commit to finding it and start having the business (and life) you’ve been dreaming about?
